The aim of the HPMFT (Human Powered Multi Flight Test) is to promote human powered aircrafts advancement in technical and pilot skill “Whoever, Whenever, Wherever,” they may be

Points will be scored and distributed accordingly based on the basic and extra tasks each team was able to complete. Each team must report there obtained score and flight data (video) to AircraftMakers after an HPMFT has been performed

HPMFT consists of a basic evaluation test such as a 200 m time trial, landing accuracy measurement, and additional test of slalom flight

1)Distance for takeoff:

(180[m]-distance between Line "S” and Line “FS”[m])

2) 200m Time Trial:

(200[m]/ flight time between Line “FS” and Line “FG”[sec])²

3) Landing accuracy: 

(30[m]-distance between the landing point and Point “G”[m])×4

*in Line FS and FG,the planes lowest point must exceed a height of 0.75m or above from the ground.

*The team may choose freely the distance between Line “S” and Line “FS”.

*The distance between Line “FS” and Line “FG” is set to 200m.

*The team may choose freely the distance between Line “FG” and Point “G” .

the following tasks are counted as extra points if completed together with tasks 1) to 3).

4)Takeoff from Grass

5)Unassisted Takeoff Performance

6) Assembly Time

The following task may be conducted if the team wishes after completing the basic tasks. If the team decides to do so, the points gained during the basic task will be added to the overall score. However, the extra task must be completed within 7 days after the basic task has been completed.

 

Slalom flight:

20×(number of times crossed the center line)
